I have to drive 30 odd miles over a mountain pass into wyoming. 2000 feet up, 2000feet down, and it snows a lot here, gets pretty hairy driving. Though if you're not too hungover you can ski on the way to work

About 5 mins away, rollerblades or BMX. Sometimes have to go to Cardiff though, that takes about an hour in the car.

A lot of it is uphill.

Prestwich_Blue, you have my sympathies for having to use the Circle Line. I'm incredibly lucky not to have the Tube at the moment.

My 'commute':

- Leave my flat

- walk for 5 minutes through leafy Bloomsbury

- amble through picturesque Russell Square, perhaps pausing to feed the squirrels, or if going the other direction walk down to Strand

- arrive

150 mile round trip, eastbourne to sw London. 5 days a week. my old vw van coughed its last a few weeks ago...
with 320,000 miles on it.
shit journey every day, but it means i can live 2mins from the sea.
