Must be a couple of years now I reckon. They reduced it from 5.2% to 5%, which doesn't sound like much but it took the "X Factor" out of it that used to make us beat our wives. Whatever that special ingredient was it has gone now so you just get "normal pissed" rather than "Stella pissed".

I give you the new 5.5% Stella Black....

Ooh, whens that out? I'll tell the wife to go to her Mum's for the weekend.

Stella Black is a magnificent pint, I'm hooked.

However my wallet isn't so keen - £4.55 a pint.....

Once tasted I find it impossible to go back to normal stella although not many places do black.

I don't drink in town but I know my mate had it at a bar in Spinningfields, not sure which one though.

I'll ask him tomorrow and let you know.
