Dont pack your skiis at that time of the year.

But more seriously enjoy and spendplenty of time researching your route and what there is too see.
Its something i really wish I had done before becoming a wage slave but never got round too.
The only times I have been to the alps have been when they have been covered in the white stuff so can be offer no real advice other than to take plenty of sd cards and bring back a load of photos so that you can look back at them when you are old and grey (like me).

Haha cheers, i can't ski without seriously risking breaking my bones anyway. I'm graduating in the Summer and have no jobs lined up, so i thought i might as well make the most of my freedom whilst i can.

if you get to nuremberg visit rothenburg which is like denton to Manchester distance wise (in a very bad comparison) its a real medieval town

I've been to the Sauerland part of Germany in the West, but the people there said Bavaria is completely different, culture, language and they don't like each other, so i'm looknig forwards to comparing the two. Looking at pictures of Rothenburg, it looks amazing, i love walled medieval towns.

heidelberg @Nuremberg in Germany ,my wife's parents lived near Frankfurt for 15 years it was when my daughters were young so they spent most of there summer holidays there,we would go for the last 2 weeks and bring them back with us ,the way of life for kids is great there open air swimming pools bike rides through the forests and you would come across a kiosk where you could get a beer and bratwurst with no knob heads to spoil it happy days, the village they lived in was called deburg so if you are ever traveling around the darmstadt Frankfurt area stop there its a beautiful part of Germany
?
