Your Favourite Classical Music Pieces

Not to sound morbid.
But I have loved this for more than thirty years,I bought it first on cassette.Divine.

Faure's Requiem.

It's not morbid it's simply beautiful. First recording I bought of it was by the Monteverdi Choir in the mid-90s it's not one of the celebrated recordings but that album (includes other choral works inc. Debussy and Sain-Saens) remains one of my favourites.

Its staggering from start to finish.
I love choral music.
I have a four hour choir/choral mix I listen to frequently before sleep, helps me relax and unwind.
All this from an athiest.

Not sure if it's the only requiem to include the In Paradisum but it's atypical and it's a beautiful way to end the piece.

As well as traditional liturgical works I keep meaning to try some modern choral works too but never quite get round to it/know where to start.
