Your favourite ever City away game?

City v Bradford 1989 (?) Final score 1-1 and we got promoted... think Trev Morley scored ? I could be completely wrong
However was in the home end with my old mate Kenny Hand.. What a trip home that day

The Final of the European Cup Winners in Vienna 1970,when we beat Gornick Z. Me and my mate hitch hiked all the way there and back and a superb adventure at only 19 years of age.All the better as we found out where the players were staying and we got to travel in the team bus to watch them training courtesy of Glyn Pardoe and my namesake Alan Oakes as we knew them.
Along with half a dozen others we managed to climb into the stadium at night (Monday & Tuesday) and sleep on the Pole Vault mattress`s,as the ground was also a sports stadium.Wonderful times.

Notts County and the 3 - 2 loss in the promotion season where we took over the place.
An afternoon on the piss in Chesterfield waving at all the blue coaches, hundreds of them.
What a day behind the nets that was. Promotion put off for a week or so until the Bradford game I think.

1-0 Win at Wembley v Utd Fa cup Semi

1-0 win at Villa park fa cup semi final

2-1 win at Elland Rd 1978 days cup third Rd

Coventry away circa 80/81 in the snow " I'm dreaming of a blue Wembley" first airing

Wigan away - night game in at Springfield park. On that muddy bank

Barnsley away - the hotdog carts.

Stoke Away - Francis at Victoria ground and the 5-2 but still relegated debacle.

Aston Villa. 2-1...Ward and Reid. Saved us from relegation and seriously dented their title aspirations. Plus it was on TV when that was a rarity.
I hated it when we were on TVs late 80's early 90's because we always fucking lost!!
This was our first win on TV for years I seem to remember.

Can't believe we're at the bottom of page 2 and no one's mentioned York yet! Not that I was there (possibly the only City fan who wasn't), but I'll nominate it anyway.

Sadly I never got to many away games, but I was in with the Reading fans when we beat them 2-0 away, the week after the 10-1. I was keeping quiet, but the mood was pretty upbeat amongst the home fans, who made many comments to the effect that they were just relieved it was only 2!

Fantastic story mate. I had it on a tyranny in our kitchen. Batteries were shite so I had it stuck against the pipes. What a win though.

My best away day and there have been a few is the 6-1 at the swamp. Porto and schalke are also up there.
