Your Favourite Home Cooked Meal?

You've never chucked a chicken in the oven on a weekday? Minimal effort, provides plenty of left overs for sandwiches/wraps for lunch or a curry/risotto for dinner the next day.
Home made chicken stock for a pilau/risotto seals the deal.

Mine changes, almost daily, but got to say, all those “no gravy near steak” people, I take it you’re excluding braised steak (with onions, mash or chips, some kind of green stuff, heavily buttered bread) ?

Don't have a favourite meal as such, never have. Always up for something new.
Easier to list what I don't like...Pasta.. I'll eat it, but it's not something that features in my cooking repertoire..

"They" are ramping up the "you will eat bugs" agenda right now and in about two years this thread will morph into the "Your Favourite Homecooked Meal That You Miss The Most" thread...

Not a big fan or pasta (or rice) either mate just take up space, would rather have garlic bread, curry I prefer with chips and naan bread,

I do all of the cooking in our house.

One of my favourites is BIR (British Indian Restaurant) style curries so I've got the base gravy made up in a large batch. Ie jalfrezi, rogan josh, garlic chilli chicken etc. Thinking of investing in a tandoor for my chicken tikka.

Me too. Making a huge batch later. I make a couple of different styles of curry and bung it in the freezer...Lol, I was doing a bit of work in a restaurant a few years back and had to throw a tandoor in a skip...I was gutted I had no room for it..It was the size of an industrial washing machine.

Make your own?
Get a huge terracotta plant pot from a garden centre, some are tandoor shaped...Bit of charcoal, off you go.

I'd rather have braising steak with onions and gravy than fillet steak, much more tasty and satisfying a meal i think.

Filet is the worst steak. The lack of fat means it does not have enough flavour. Tender, yes, but very expensive. Give me a sirloin with a good fatty collar.
As you say, braising with onions and gravy is far superior to a fillet.

I have a weird habit of eating last night’s left overs for brunch. My mid morning breakfast this week has included chicken and chickpea curry with chapattis, and cauliflower cheese with bacon, tomatoes and croutons.
Do I need help?
Not at all, I’ve had plenty of Sunday roasts on a Monday morning with a tin of tuna on top ;-)
