Funny thing is, although being into heavy metal, rock, blues, prog rock and everything, after overplaying them in the eighties I really struggle to enjoy them today. I put them on now but quickly turn them off - weird. Stairway's still good though, and The Song Remains the Same (original track listing) is the only album of theirs I can get through without skipping tracks.

After all that I'll add The Rain Song as my favourite Led Zep song.

Surprised The Who aren't on this list.

Start at 1 and then listen to the albums in order. 1 has covers of some magical blues standards. You will see a growth and maturity that imo continues right up to and including Physical Graffiti

Oasis - Supersonic
The Beatles - Help!
Pink Floyd - Echoes
Bob Dylan - Subterranean Homesick Blues
Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter
Led Zeppelin - Heartbreaker

just a tad remiss to cut that list off at Physical Graffiti before getting to Achilles Last Stand on Presence. Some merit on the in/out door effort as well. ;)
