Your first Away game.

My first away game was tranmere rovers we was all in the kop end, in 97/98 i think! i got tommy wrights autograph and i think we drew 0 - 0. think they had a bush above the tunnel in the maine stand.

That was my second, my first being the 3-0 drubbing against Wimbledon in 1996 at Selhurst Park. I didn't see us win away till the 2-1 victory in Aug 2005 at St Andrews. I've got a pretty good record in recent years however.

west brom league cup replay way back in 70s we won but can't remember if it was 0-1 or 1-2 snowed like hell on M6 on way down nearly missed k.o.

Very early seventies and we lost 1 -0 to the Dippers. If memory serves the Goal was scored by Peter Cormack.

Yeah was a great season, crazy when you think we should of been about 6 down at Blackburn by time we scored

Blackpool away I think it was in the 97/98 season in the league cup so I would have been 11. Got beat 1 0. Kinkladze got kicked all over by Gary Brabin. Standing section behind the net.
2nd leg went to penalties and Bradbury's nearly went over the platt lane.

Wigan in the league cup(i think), it was pissing it down(as usual at Wigan) and Alex Williams was in goal, pretty sure it was 1983. Anyway, City scored first and the Away end went mental and the Pigs started battoning the Blues and wading into 'em for fuk all, they equalised with an own goal so finished 1-1, there was fukin loadsa blues that night, i was in the away end, aged 10 or 11.

First away game, was Liverpool away, under Ball when we lost 6-0 three days after they beat us 4-0 in the league cup, to make it worse I was in with the Liverpool twats. A few of my mates are scouse fans and had a spare ticket at late notice so I thought why not. It was horrendous, I was about 15 at the time as well, it was hard to keep my emotions in check, the only shinning light was seeing the City end go mantal when we won a corner in the 91st minute, and a drunk City fan who was also in the Liverpool end, who didn't stop singing City songs all the way through, he got dogs abuse as well but didn't give a shit, I am ashamed to say being 15, I bottled out of joining in with him.
To make it worse in the interview after the game, the interviewer asked Ball what he thought of the game, his response . . . . . . "I enjoyed the Liverpool performance, I thought they were terrific".

Can't remember which but it would have been a derby at the swamp in the late seventies. My step grandad worked the turnstiles City one week the rags the next. We always went home at half time from the Stretford shithole unless it was a derby.
