Your mates that don't support City or United

Hello from Germany,

although the only stadium near Manchester I visited was Old Trafford

its City for me.

ManUtd has to much in common with a team from Munich.

Maybe we meet again in CL

Good luck on Sunday.

btw Ill be watching it here on German Sky

Well if your lads fancy getting up to their old tricks, make sure you visit the ground again with a full payload :)
Only kidding mate, thanks for the support

I am a Stokie, and came on here a couple of times twelve months ago, for obvious reasons.

Two things. First - mercenaries attaching themselves to successful flags of football convenience is (as you know) nothing new. When I was growing up in Leek in the 60s, "supporting" Man U was commonplace. I reckon it was about 50/50 (Man U/Stoke). The difference being, of course, that most of the latter actually went to the games.

I do not particularly like the phrase "gloryhunting", but I recognised it even then as spineless treachery - and spineless treachery it remains to this day. Put it this way - I remember very clearly being the only kid in my school backing Benfica in the European Cup Final in May 1968.

Second - I don't need to tell you how gutted I was to lose in the Cup Final, but when we got home I got my two kids (both took SCFC with their mother's milk) to call their Granddad (on my wife's side, you understand) - a lifelong Man C fan, who was in fact at Wembley to see your win (in the early 50s?). It really was quite a moving moment.

I am by nature a pessimist, and generally think if something can go wrong it will. So in your position I would be feeling very nervous. But I just cannot see you blowing it. And assuming I am right, I will at 17.01 tomorrow be getting my kids to call their Grandadd once again. I will have tear in my eye on his behalf.

I like this post. Thought the Stoke fans at Wembley that day (and later on into the evening) were a credit to the club. It was a joy to chat and mingle with proper footy fans from another club after the match. Esp as what 'they' were like after the semi-final.

Say hello to Grandad from us folk at Bluemoon

most of my mates who don't support City or Utd are Oldham and I think if they do give a toss they prefer us, mainly because we helped them when they were in the shit and Utd didn't. I saw an old mate last week who's a Liverpool fan and he said "I really hope you do it"

Everton season ticket holder at work wants United. He hates City. I suspect from jealousy, Lescott and he wants United to remain more successful than Liverpool.

Wigan fan is just relieved they are safe, and can enjoy their last game.

Bolton fan wants United to win because we have bought success. I've not sure what combination of results will suit him to be honest.

Liverpool fan wants City.

And there are many Blues and Rags. The United fans are not looking forward to Monday.

I think most neutrals want City, myself included.

Not sure why Everton fans would want United to win, am I missing something?

After being in the shadows of their neighbours for decades (like Spurs and City) surely they'd want the underdogs to prevail?

Bolton fans want United to win it because most of them are closet reds.

I think it depends on how much they hate Liverpool who desperately hates the idea of someone winning more titles than them, and for most Everton fans ranges between obsession and all-consuming obsession. ;)

.

Bolton fans should be cheering on us to win,if QPR get even as much as a draw they are down,it reads like your friend would rather see his team relegated than see us win the league.

Most Arsenal fans I know ant utd to win, because like them they are a proper club and deserve the title....
