Your Rag Mates

Group of us all grew up together, both red and blue. Both lots go most games to.

We had a minibus each for the semi final. After the game not one of us text or rang one of them to take the piss. Apparently everytime one of their phones went they got all paranoid and agitated that it was us finally getting in touch....the suspense killed them.

Probably the only rational one out of them admitted this to me a few weeks later, mission accomplished. Not saying anything was better than anything we could have said!

For those of you who dont have reds as friends, seriously, you are missing out these days, its great fun watching them having to watch City start to dominate!!

I had convinced myself over the last 20 years that I didn't have any Rag mates, then I set up a Facebook account a few months back, Jeeesus!! the gits just kept coming. The upshot,I don't go on to the scummy place anymore and have fewer friend, I can live with that.

I think that's a myth for London. The London Clubs are well supported by their own. Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are always full etc. People confuse idiots in replica shirts who don't know when their team are playing with people who actually go to matches or just actively support the side.

with 10 million inhabitants the local clubs will get a decent following, the rest are plastic rags, absolute fact.

I've got loads of Rag mates. A mate of mine who has a key to my house got my ticket for the Charity Shield and brought it down where I met him under the Bobby Moore statue. I was on holiday in Devon at the time so had to make my way from there.

Loads of lads I went to school with support blue and red, it is Manchester after all so some depending on where you grew up support their local team. I'm not going to drop life lond school mates because they happened to support United and to the games.

I even met up with a life long red mate after the semi-final, he said we deserved it.

I am aware of a fan in my social circle (never class him as a friend). To do a timeline:

1990 - never even spoke about football.
1993 - United's biggest fan ever.
1995 - 2009 Most annoying rag in the world
2010 - gone quiet.

COCK

My sentiments exactly, there's always one who people know, theres plenty of them like you just mentioned, and everyone will know of one, either by goin in local,or whatever, unless you live in a tent in the middle of the moors or up in the Scottish Highlands maybe, even then there will be one there as well !!

Unbelievably met 2 locals in tydrum in the Scottish Highlands who declared themselves as Rags..giving loud in the village pub while MOTD was on. looked a bit sheepish once they discovered me and my mate were form Manchester....

Not hundreds. Thousands upon thousands. Name a local one who goes. I can't.
