YOUR Starting team v United

I belive Dzeko will be in starting 11.

It's a hard one to call as Mancini has favoured the lone striker when going to difficult away grounds like the swamp. However we do need to give ourselves every chance of scoring, and the rags struggled with crosses last week against Wolves.

Re: YOUR Starting tem v United

City have the lowest cross completion record in the country.

However that should improve with Kolarov now in the team. He has already produced some great crosses eg the one from which Tevez hit the post against WBA

I want City to go to Old Trafford and smother them. There are some City fans who think we are Barcalona and capable of going anywhere and playing a team off the pitch. We are on our day, but you can't plan for those special few days when everything clicks. We should not get ahead of ourselves. This is a game where it's very important to pick up a point. Territorial possession is not that important. A counter-attacing game gives us the best chance of a point, or even a win. Please take a quick look at Utd's home record before coming out with claims that City should go for it at Utd.

Same set up as we used against WBA with Richards in for Boateng, and De Jong in for Barry

this is what Mancini should do.

I have to agree with this, possibly K Toure in for Boateng?

This, but swap SWP for Milner and Barry for Yaya. IMO, we need to play 4-5-1 at the swamp. The game will be won or lost in midfield.

Spot on mate - echoes my thoughts entirely both in terms of personnel and approach.

We are at our best when teams come at us, leaving space for us to exploit on the counter attack. Its all well and good going all out for the win, chucking everything forward, but we have shown recently that we leave ourselves horribly exposed when we play like this, and that our defence isn't quite as impenetrable as we might have thought earlier this season.

Mancini has gone on record as saying we need to tighten up, close games out, and use this as a platform for victory. Unless he's playing some colossal mind games (which I doubt in this case), then hoping for an all out attacking blitz will leave you disappointed I'm afraid.

GK - Hart
RB - Richards
CB - Kolo
CB - Vince
LB - Pascal
CM - NDJ
CM - Milner
RM - Silva
AM - Yaya
LM - AK
CF - Tevez

With genuine options on the bench - Dzeko, Balo, SWP - to change the game if needed.

Hart
Richards
Toure
Kompany
Zab
NDJ
Barry
yaya
Silva
Milner
Tevez

I think Kolarov is improving but if he plays at leftback on Saturday, it is going to be brown trousers time every time nani gets the ball imo. Let's be honest, he is going to go for being as solid as possible. I reckon there is almost no chance he will start with Dzeko and when he wants it solid, he often picks Milner in one of the wide positions. I reckon we will be relying on Yaya, Silva and Tevez for the counter attacks and everyone else will be picked for their defensive qualities/work rate etc.
