When a Blind Man Cries - Deep Purple
Time to Say Goodbye - Bocelli and Brightman
Brother up in Heaven - Alan Parsons Project

The Brother up in Heaven is about the brother of one of the band who was a fighter pilot in the RAF who flew in various recent wars. He decided that he was wasting his talent and so learned to fly helicopters so that he could rescue soldiers, civilians instead of causing more pain. Sadly, his helicopter was shot down and he was killed.

As someone mentioned earlier,Mike and the Mechanics Living Years. I remember first hearing it on the radio when it came out shortly after my Dad died and I just burst into tears. Still can't listen to it.
Sorry, can't put up videos but another sad song for me is Green Day's "Good Riddence (Time of your life). It was played at a good friend's funeral when she passed away far too young at 28.
Third place is shared by Puressence version of "Bright Eyes" and Echo and the Bunnymen's "Ocean Rain".
