Your top 5 highs as a City fan

No, I'm sorry, this is ridiculous. I'm not having a go at Liam's thread because it's an excellent idea, but I made a thread exactly like this one earlier today and it was merged into here. But this thread is still going, even ages after its creation. Why has it not been merged like mine was?

Some degree of double standards. Annoyed.

Top thread idea, though, Liam.

1. Gillingham 1999 - sheer delerium when Dickov scored
2. Blackburn 2000 - the day after my brother's wedding, we all left the wives and children at the hotel on a big coach headed for Ewood. The vicar said a prayer for City in the service and boy, did the big man upstairs deliver by chucking the post and crossbar in the way of every Blackburn shot
3. City 5 United 1 - 1989 - my first derby and remember drinking beforehand and we all thought we would get battered, Clive Allen was injured and we were doomed. "Early cross, chance at the far post, Hinchcliffe, that's just marvellous stuff"
4. City 4 United 1 - for the only time I was in hospitality and a chap I was with had Fowler to score first, City to win 4-1 and the box nearly blew off when Shauny scored that pearler near the end. To make it even better, Peter Barnes came in the box shortly after he had collected his winnings!
5. City 1 United / Stoke 0 - Yaya slots one in just in front of us and the memories of Dickov's goal and the wild celebration come flooding back. Also, to make it more special, my 5 year old boy is with me

fa cup final

getting a warm feeling inside reading the fear on other forums - r.e. their threads concerning upcoming matches against us

the performance against chelsea at home last season

when my city hotdog fell out of the bun before the first bite... (who cuts straight through the bun? morons)

1. Cup final 2011
2. Wembley 99
3. Spurs 3 City 4 (Barton sent off at HT)
4. FAC semi V Utd 2011
5.Blackburn 2000

1,Colin Bells come back game against Newcastle.
2,23rd September 1989.
3,F.A.Cup final 2011.(never thought the day would dawn).
4,League Cup Final 76(1st time at Wembley).
5,Semi against Utd, sweet revenge.

*Wembley '99
*Promotion at Ewood Park
*Promotion under Keegan
*Last derby at Maine Road
*Winning the FA Cup, beating the rags to get to the final, finishing 3rd....pretty much the whole of the 2010/2011 season!

I imagine this will be harder to compose in a few years time.

In no particular order:

1. FA Cup Final 2011 & Celebration Parade
2. Wembley 1999
3. Watching my boyhood hero Georgi Kinkladze at Maine Road when he managed to get through the whole Southampton defence and score a brilliant goal.
4. Any derby wins against the rags, in particular, the recent FA Cup semi final win, when the Goat was fed and the one when Benjani scored just after he'd joined us and obviously the Carling Cup first leg last season as I was at it and it felt amazing having beat them, sadly the second leg didn't go to plan.
5. Undecided between our 4-3 comeback against Spurs or the win against Chelsea where we ripped them apart following Terry's rejected handshake and it felt like sweet revenge for Wayne Bridge.

1. FA Cup Final 2011
2. Wembley 99
3. When Sheikh Mansour purchased the club (i was buzzin, i knew he was serious) -Takeover/Deadline Day
4. Last Maine Road Derby
5. Chelsea Away 4 - 2, first away game

1. Beating United in the semi, then watching them pile out of Wembley in typically pitiful fashion. And then, obviously, the final and watching us actually win something for the first time in my entire life. Two of the best days I've ever had.
2. City 4 Spurs 3. My dad was so dejected that he wanted to leave at half time. Luckily, he got talked out of it. :D
3. Winning the first division under KK.
4. Last game at Maine Road. A somewhat sad high, but a great sendoff to a wonderful ground.
5. Beating Spurs to secure CL qualification. Christ, that was a good week.

3) City beating Liverpool at Anfield in early 70's, 3-1 Rodney Marsh scores volley with Clemence on his knees in front of him - we were good then......

4) City 4 - utd 1. SWP against Utd right in front of me and on my B'day too!

5) Gary Neville accidentally spits on himself after gifting The Goat a goal infront of the Utd fans.

1) fa cup win this year
2) pitch invasion against wigan to get us to play off final and the final
3) the moment sky announced we signed robinho
4) 4-3 spurs we were crap then and the was a little diamond in a massive turd of a season
5) Schalke away couple of years ago great trip via amsterdam and the blues/oranges won

FA Cup final 11 - Tears of joy at an age where I could understand the situation completely (unlike the play off final)
FA Cup semi 11 - Said it was the best day of my life at the time. Had never seen anything like it, outplaying them to get into a final.
Play off final 99 - I was really happy obviously, but aged 5 (I think) I didn't really understand what would happen if we didn't go up. I was brought up with us being shit so didn't understand how important this match was.
Blackburn 2000 - We were back
Last Derby at Maine Road - Perfect day
