"You're the one for me, Barry"

it's possible we'll rue the decision to let Barry go. We are now missing a holding midfielder that can tackle.
Will Fernandinho step up or alternatively can Rodwell stay fit. Massive gamble by the club once again.

I don't think we had much choice to be honest. Yes, he's been great for us, but for the past 12 months a lot of his performances were starting to look pretty ragged if you ask me, with mistakes giving the ball away followed by fouls trying to get it back. He basically looked slower than before and he was never quick in the first place. This season was only going to get worse, accentuated Pellegrini wanting to play a high pressing line. It was never going to work.

I'll miss him. Underrated in a big way. Was great for us the season we won the league. Never really going to feature in a midfield pairing alongside Yaya, due to his lack of mobility, but will be a very useful player for Everton.

He's the sort of player who makes your team very difficult to beat, so he was very important in our transition from Top 5 to Top 2. His mentality was very good. His will to win was top notch, and he seems like a proper professional. He should still go to the World Cup if England are going to play with 3 in the middle, and i suspect this is the reason for the move.

Good luck to him. Everton have played a blinder with him and Lukaku.

Gutted Barry has left but it was going to happen one day

A faithful and capable servant for the club and a player who I have soundly backed in his time with us, a definite worker and a player who perhaps does not get the plaudits he deserves sometimes from the press...............

Good luck GazBaz

I like it Ric ... fitting tribute to our quiet champion. He'll be boss alongside McCarthy at Everton.

I imagine he will be happy to have the opportunity for more playing time with the World Cup approaching. His league play the past few seasons was stellar, and did a great service for the club. I remember one of the Inside City's when Garcia was signed and Barry was coming back from injury. They were doing some training together, and Barry looked very sharp and could tell he wasn't going to give up his place without a fight. A good move for both club and player at the moment, I hate to see talent go wasted on the bench since we also have Rodwell looking for minutes.

NOW CAN I BE A MOD????????

Mmmmmm, how many times did you run round the Mulberry Bush? Have you had the interview initiation tasks yet? There's a lot more to it than telling Ric he is the greatest........... even when it's true.............. have you told him he has the best website in the land, in all the world? Have you praised de niro? Have you told Prestwich Blue what a great orator he is? Have you told Oakie Coakie that calling people idiots is not polite? (Although with OC it is not his usual style, he's a kind person normally)

You see you just thought it was a case of shouting in Capital Letters but there is a lot more to being a mod than that!! You've also got to sort out the rockers!!! ;-)

Sorry Ric, digressed again and went into daft half hour EB mode!!

Thank god he is gone we need to be more dynamic in European games on a whole. Also in some of the bigger games at times he was shown up. He done well at the club and I was shocked to see him last for as long as he did. Different manager different style of play and different players.
Never shown up vrs the rags, he always played well against them in covering the area they really like to operate in. Really sad to see him go and wish him all the best. The most underrated player we've had in a long long time.

Gaz Baz was shit, Mancini was a ****... I sometimes wonder wtf some so called fans have been watching for the last few years. These people will go down in our club history.

An absolutely superb footballer. Everton have got themselves a rolls royce there(a slow one mind). He's incredibly underrated at what he does. Wish him all the best at Everton and hope he goes to the World Cup next year!
