Zabaleta confirms he will stay at City

I think a lot of people are ignoring that he also takes a valuable foreign player slot. This was another season where we had to drop a first team player from our Champions League squad due to the lack of flexibility. He really should be allowed to leave.

I am in the "see if he can get back to his previous level after a decent rest" camp. 31 is not that old with modern sports science so I think that many people are writing him off too soon.

He was excellent in last summers copa america, the knee injury stalled him, watch him this summer when he is playing a few games in a row,he will be fine

The key areas are the full backs. We need legs in the team all around the park. A new left back and right back is needed. I think Zab is a great player I would keep him on if he wants to stay as he is a fighter and looking at the team this season we lacked that a bit of grit and fight.

One of my favourite players to have worn the shirt with pride bottle and total commitment. Will be remembered and revered as a living legend for what he has done for us.

However, I feel he is nearIng the end, shame but we cannot be too sentimental when he finally leaves us. Best he bows out with dignity sooner than later than look like a player that's well past his best. I wish him well wherever he goes.

I think he's done. Pep could well see something but I get the feeling this season has been a confirmation for the club that we need changes this summer to start a new cycle.

Zab has been in decline for 18 months, it's not just happened, he has had little or no rest for the best part of 3 seasons, and it's hit him hard.

I hope I am wrong but his time as a player with us has come to an end.

yep, never was same player since World cup.

Total legend of a man , would love to see him still here next season refreshed and ready. The problem in the modern era is the fact that players play far too many games and it takes its toll .

Especially at fullback position where you have to sprint up and down whole game. It's worse position physically, once you lose a yard, you're finished. And let's be realistic, Zaba was never world class defensively, pretty good but not world class, he was world class due to his commitment and overall game that included him being very useful in attack

I'd be inclined to give Zab another season, unless he wants to go. No reason why he can't recover some form and physical conditioning, 31 is not that old.
