Zabaleta Out? Right back discussion {merged}

For a player that's back early from an injury Pablo really got stuck in today. Of course this was to be expected by Super Zaba, didn't stop me from shitting myself everytime he went into a tackle in fear of re-injury

Given that Boyata and Nastasic made the bench, presumably the former was their should Zabaleta break down and that must have been anticipated. Might be tempted to give him a rest against Crystal Palace and play someone else instead, especially if there is no news about Richards being fit. He'll want to play, but we need him ready for the really big encounters.

The guy just oozes class. Always comes across well when being interviewed. Love the fact that he said he really wanted to play today, even though it was a gamble coming back so soon. Agree about resting him at the weekend; stick Jimbo or Dedryck (or even, God forbid, Javi) in at RB against Palace. Hopefully their attacking intentions will be fairly limited.

Garcia at right back...why did you even think that?

Read my post again. It was the final option, after Milner or Boyata. I wouldn't like to risk Zab again, just 48 hours after his rushed comeback. Another option would be Clichy there (if fit), although he struggled there against Fulham.

Is he OK? He looked laboured at the end, but it may have been cramp as he didn't seem in too much agony (likewise Negredo).

Reading it once was enough....Palace have some pacy players on the break. Garcia is one of the last players I would have at right back and I am not one of his haters on here.

He says in that interview I linked to that he was tired and was suffering from cramp towards the end.

A couple more trophies with us and he'll be regarded up there with Cafu.

What a player. Not only great attitidude but he's fucking brilliant on the ball. As much as we'd all love Richards to be our right back, he's not no chance as long as Zab is here.

I was in Munich when he changed the game. Now, how many right-backs change a game like that? Not many! He's a great player

Not only does he love City, I get the impression that he hates Utd like Kompany, Aguero and Yaya do
