Zabaleta: Overtaken Richards as our first choice RB

Not much between them, but they are different players.

If we need to win i want Micah, if we want not to lose then Zabs

We are so fortunate to have the best 2 right backs in the country.

Micah is defo the better all round player but zab is the most passionate player we have and i love the guy.

richards is the better player and should be in the same bracket as Joe hart for one of the players to be in the team over the next ten years

Both excellent players and we'll need both of them at the club with the amount of games we have to play a season.

I think Mancini is doing something he should have done about 5/6 games earlier and that's finding a winning starting 11 and sticking with it. Once we were out of the cups this is the way we should have gone. Some of the regulars won't like it but Zabba has been excellent and there is no reason at all to change the team. Richards has had a brilliant season and again has come on in leaps and bounds but for now he has to sit on the bench with Johnson, Dzeko, Kolarov, Kolo, Balo etc etc

Couldn't agree more.

It's a great dilemma to have this one and you know whichever one is out of the team is ready to step in and work their bollocks off.

-- Fri May 04, 2012 11:30 pm --

A City legend in the making.
Seconded.

He's definitely a big favourite because of his approach to the game, even his love of chippy food! One of those you can see coming back to Manchester long after he retires (if he moves away that is) on a regular basis.

TBH, I think its more a case of 'If it aint broke, don't fix it' rather than Pab overtaking Micah.

They've both got their attributes that benefit the squad and are good back up/competition for each other. I'd rather celebrate the fact that we have 2 international standard right backs at the club of whom I'm as equally comfortable with.

Agreed.

Overall i'd say MadPab is more valuable to the manager because of his versatility in several positions. When both fit and on form i'd guess he'd put Micah in, saving Pab as an invaluable sub.

Both are excellent and have different qualities. Micah has the pace, power, strength and leap whilst Zaba has the concentration, positional sense, hardness and total commitment to the cause. Micah has what Zaba needs and Zaba has what Micah needs.

If you wanted 2 perfect examples to youth players both players can offer everything needed .

Zab a player who never ever ever gives less than 100% and maximises his ability and always plays for the team . A true terrace hero .

Micah a player who has always had the potential but like so many players believed his own hype before he'd really earned it .. but now after waking up and smelling the coffee and changing his attitude has fast become arguably the best English right back in the country !?

Both have limitations and excel in different aspects of the game but the fantastic thing for all of us blues is who ever lines up in the position on Sunday none of us will be to stressed and we know they will give everything for the badge and us !

Magnificently different but superbly similar .

Chip muffin.

Was thinking about this the other day too.

Right back is definitely our strongest position.

Micah and Zaba briliant...
Savic and Kolo accomplished there also.
Wabara is looking a very good prospect for the future in the EDS, bombs forward and has scored a few this season, looks decent at defending also.
