Zinchenko out for 4 or 5 weeks with knee injury

So to recap we know he either got injured playing for Ukraine, in training, or neither, he had knee surgery, and he’s out anywhere from a month maybe to the entire year? Sounds great.

These injuries just seem to appear out of nowhere, don't be surprised if we hear of another couple of players missing this weekend, that we weren't aware of. Pep's presser will be interesting.

I keep saying it why are we getting so many and Liverpool are not?
Is this a consequence of Peps style of play?

I think it's to much of a coincidence for it to classed unlucky, i think its got to be something we're doing in training, or it could be the physios in the gym putting to much pressure on the knee joints.

It must be something to do with our training, or the diet they get, even our physios?

No team can get so many injuries in such a short period of time unless there is something fundamentally wrong with the set up somewhere.

There are positives though; if the club recognise and change whatever is causing players to be more susceptible to these injuries, hopefully we'll have everyone back fit for the run-in and finally at some point the scousers must pick up key defensive injuries. It has to happen over such a long season, especially as vD seems to get picked every game.

You can strengthen ligaments through weight training, but that's probably inappropriate for footballers. You don't want to drain their powers of recovery when they need to be football training.

I'd be looking at surfaces and boots, rather than player conditioning. Probably just bad luck.

On Instagram he is in a hospital bed in Spain so must be pretty bad

it cant really be in the training or the way we plays as Liverpool play a fast press game and their players give 110%

Can only be in the diet or the supplements they are on. The players are so lean, a certain percentage of fat protect our muscle / tendons. Some of us have more protection than others...

Not that our players are taking enhancement supplements but you speak to weightlifters / bodybuilders / strongman athletes and they will all say you are more likely to injure yourself when you are on enhanced supplements ( of various levels !!!! ). This builds strength but weakens the muscles & ligaments resistance and you can tire it easily.
