Zlatan Ibrahimovic

perhaps we should be aiming for younger player too

We already have great talents, Milan have a HUGE lump of old players that they need to get rid off. That's what she meant with the statement. Abbiati (35), Nesta (35), Jankulovski (34), Gattuso (34), Seedorf (35), Inzaghi (38).

Ibrahimovic is young compared to these. I brought that quote up because it mean that if they buy players this summer (and Ibra is a buy of this summer), they'll focus on young players. We're not in the same urge, in fact, we'd be good with some mature CL experienced players. Vieira and Given might quit, and then we have few players over 30.

Supposedly 20mill would be enough to tempt Barca. I'd have him, tho I'd rather have Eto'o

They are completely different footballers. Ibra fits our formation because he can hold up the ball well, we lack a good playmaking central midfielder that can give Eto'o good through balls (if Silva isn't moved more centrally). Also, Eto'o is reliant on his pace and he'll lose parts of that each year.

Plus, people call Balotelli dressing room cancer. I'd be interested to see what they will call Eto'o then. Look at what he did to Barcelona.

I'm aware that they are completely different footballers. We lack an Eto'o type striker more than we lack someone who can hold the ball up and lay it off.
Eto'o is still the best striker in the world. 30+ goals again.

Very friendly with Pique!

Ibrahimovic himself said in Swedish media after their last game that he would NOT be coming to City. So I think all Ibra haters should feel very relaxed about that potential target at least.

wanting to do the magical at the expense of his team :(

Still, the team he's played for has won the league titles 8 consecutive years. He is actually a good team player with loads of assists every year.

His biggest problem is that he's often vanished late in the season when he's been exhausted due to extensive playing time.

That was particularly evident this season in Milan where he played almost every game in his first couple of months and had a terrific first half of the season. Due to lack of rest he was exhausted and was pretty mediocre in the latter part which also affected his performance in the knock-out stages of the CL.

Horrendously over rated. Never seen him have a good game in the CL yet

Did you watch Arsenal-Barca last year?

He's basicly proven he's one of the, if not the best forward of his generation. It's a logical and statistical fact at this point.

For those who say he doesn't score enough. He's got better goal to games ratio than the likes of Drogba, Rooney, Torres and Tevez, and he's not even an out and out striker. He's got the built of a CF with the advantages that gives, but plays like a support forward. A player that's scored 202 goals in 435 matches scores plenty.

For those who say he can only do it in Italy. Wrong. He scored for fun in Spain for the first six months. For whatever reason his form dropped the second part. Still, 22 goals and 12 assists in 42 matches is not a bad return for someone playing for new team, new league etc. 16 in 24 starts in La LIga isn't too shabby either.

Look at another striker that's proven to be the best, Villa, he's been playing in Spain and with most of those teammates his entire life, and he's actually got worse stats than Ibrahimovic at Barca, in every competition. The fact he''s played on the wing doesn't matter, because he gets more than enough chances to score.

For those that say he doesn't perform against good teams, or big matches. Myth.

During his career he scored goals on Spain, Italy, Holland, and even England in a friendly. Club team victims include Real Madrid in the clasico, several goals on Milan, Juventus, Inter, Roma. Scored on Valencia and Arsenal too. He also came of the bench, after being injured for two months, in 2007 on the last matchday to secure the title for Inter.

For those that say he's inconsistent. While there's truth to it for the last two seasons, he's had some droppes in form during second parts of the season, but for his entire career he's been as consistent as any. If you look at his goals/assists stats for the 6 seasons he's been in italy, and compare with other players, he's top in both goals and assists. Furthermore, he's one of the best players in the World at scoring the first or decisive goal in a match.

For those who say he doesn't score goals in the knockoutsages. Valid point. He has a bad record in the knockoutstages, but that's one argument that's against him. There's gazillion for him.

For those that say he's too slow to work in the Premiership. Maybe, but he top speed is actually quite high. Few defenders can keep up with him. It's just his acceleration isn't great due to having such long legs.

For those that say he's lazy. There's truth to it early in his career, he'd rather not run if he doesn't have to. He likes to conserve energy. But keep in mind he weighs 95 kg. Lugging that around for 90 minutes while constantly running is impossible. Fact is he sacrifices himself for his team. I've seen him vomit many times due to exhaustion this season. There's videos of it. "Ibrahimovic vomita"/ youtube. So "lazy" and too big to run as much as a 70 kg player are not the same two things.

Ibrahimovic is a winner. 8 league titles in a row. Winning the Cl can be done by luck, because almost always teams need decisions to go through. In league championsships the luck isn't as big of a factor, due to it evening out over 38 games. He's won 8 in a row, a historical achievement. Something I don't think any player has done. For those that say it's a "coincidence"....LOL. Nuff said. No but seriosuly, 8 years, hundreds of goals and assists, and 8 titles(-2) can't be a coincdence at this point. And that fact right there, makes him all time great already.

Gazzetta made this statement recently: "Serie A is a competition where 20 teams compete, and in the end Zlatan Ibrahimovic wins."

For those that say he's too old and expensive and would rather go for someone younger: Fair enough, but consider this: You buy Ibrahimovic, and best case scenario you win the league. Worst case scenario, he'll still be better than 90% of the players on your team, if he doesn't "perform" and you're out 25-30 mil pounds. It's not like you haven't taken economic hits on players before lol.

Ok, that's it. Now please, get this information to someone in charge at City and get him to feck off out of MIlan! Pls.

He's badass.

He's world class.

He does Ibracadabra.

He's Mancini's lovechild.

But no. Dzeko is enough.
