Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Well Gomez has been linked with us. And given that he scored 39 and 41 in the last two seasons, he's definitely one to look at. Having said that, he does seem a bit similar to Dzeko, and Dzeko doesn't really suit our style of play. But I think you often get far better value buying a player that is surplus to requirements at their current club than trying to prise a player from a club that doesn't want to sell. So I don't see why we wouldn't be in for Higuain too.

As for Ibrahimovic, I can't see it unless he's available on the cheap. It doesn't make sense to spend a fortune on a player that's not going to be around for long and has no resale value. But for a couple of seasons on a token transfer fee he'd be a great addition.

What a load of bollocks City will never be buying a 32yr old.

Maicon disagrees.

Fair reply although to point out he was brought in as a squad player on the cheap in the last minute. He probably has a decent wage but I would think that our new director of football would not spend £15 million plus on a 32yr old especially one that would want a 4yr contract at easily 200k a week.

I should of made my point clearer. To quote pudge if he signs I will eat a big red candle

Well fuck me, if it ain't the fanboy one. It's like deja vu all over again.

Meh. If he was to replace Dzeko for similar fees.... Maybe orth the risk.

He could be great with all our talent in midfield especially Navas' crosses... But I could see him being an expensive flop just as easily.

Why? He's never flopped anywhere else .

Initially I held the same view of Zlatan possibly being a massive flop & never really rated him that highly in previous games seen, but then I saw him in 'that game' against England at the new Friends Arena, where he single handedly took the game by the scruff of the neck and won it by himself - who can forget that scissor kick against our very own Joe, best goal I've seen so far in my lifetime.

I suspect its more of the case him of being arsed on a weekly basis in the Premiership, rather than being a flop and not settling to the style of play & pace.

Still a top player but PSG paid 20 million for him so can't see them letting him go for peanuts and paying that kind of money and huge wages for a 32 year old wouldn't be good business imo.
