What happened in this case? These vultures have given me a £100.00 parking fine at 1am saturday morning.
Circle Court Stretford.
I was visiting a friend who had just had a family bereavement and stayed over for the weekend to console him and discuss his financial situation.
He brought the visitor car park pass down and i placed it on my dashboard.
The next morning it was on the seat (fell due to me closing the door i’m guessing)
I didn’t think anything of it as no ticket (phew, that was lucky)
Parking fine came through the post.
I appealed it enclosing a pic of the visitor pass on my dashboard showing my numberplate & my friend also wrote a letter explaining that i was staying at the property and that i did borrow the car park pass.
This has been rejected and now demand £100.00 (do not get me started on how they can charge this)
Any advice would be great from anyone who has been in the same position!
Looks as though i’m £100 down - pep’s gonna have a pop at me now i can’t afford to go the next couple of home games :-(
Ignored them. What happened in this case?
Yes.Didn't the "ignore them" advice change a few years ago with that big court case involving parking eye? (parking eye won)
I know staff at North Manchester General are still being hounded by one parking firm/debt collection/solicitors years after the original tickets were issued.
To be honest, i had a lot on and couldn’t be arsed with the hassle (i know that sounds lazy)If you have no tangible assets then fuck them off if you can live with a CCJ judgement. If your cars on finance or lease it's not yours so cannot be taken. If it's passed to bailiffs after a court hearing then do not allow them access to your home. They cannot force entry, therefore they will have no leverage to pay the claim with.
If you feel the claim is worthy of contention then fight it with pictures of your car and your friends parking permit displayed. Ask them if they have photographic proof of the car being parked without a permit displayed and also a picture of the terms and condition of the car park taken at the date stamp of issue. Signs and lines.
Also you mention you appealed by enclosing a picture of the visitor pass on the dashboard, showing the vehicle number plate and also a letter explaining you was staying at the property. Your photograph should be time stamped and can be used as evidence. Also provide details to the court of your friends bereavement.
