Sterling to make Grenfell Tower donation

I'm a bit surprised at the reaction of some, as far as I can see; the lad has done a good thing, no one knows his motivation except himself, the people who benefit don't care, I suspect, what his motivation is, as long as they benefit. if it encourages others to benefit it is also a good thing.

He earns a great deal of money and I suspect pays a great deal of tax so there is no obligation on him to pay more.

If I were to donate 100 quid, would it be immoral to take the tax break?

Like I said, when it's from the heart you don't feel the need to tell anybody. If you need encouragement from a celebrity or your favourite football team to give charity then it says a lot about that person.

Do us all a favour and get lost please.

Sterling is doing something great and you need to have a pop at him. Disgraceful.

Damned if you do, Damned if you don't. No one knows his motivation apart from him, he's helped out that's all that matters . it doesn't affect me one way or the other or, I would of though, anyone on here, but it will greatly help the people it's donated to.

I've got to say there's too many blues without enough balls to their rag and dipper mates and family members where to stick their bullshit opinions... sycophants wind me up and there's also some that like to try and make out holding opinions that are not pro-city means they more rational/unbiased/level headed/which ever positive attribute they want to attach to themselves, just by default of going against most blues. It's just lazy reasoning and nobody is buying it.

So he said to his agent who probably handles a lot of his day to day business that he wanted to make a donation because this was close to him on a personal level, then the agent sees this as an opportunity to have some more positive gossip for his player for a change and leaked it to one of his press contacts? Big fucking wow... the amount of shit Sterling has had written about him has gone on for far too long every blue with an ounce of common sense and their own mind agrees, it's no wonder his agent wants to help him but the cretins on twitter just spun it into a negative anyway when the news broke and carried on with their infantile shite(I doubt he reads it but he'll still feel all the negativity). The world of football these days is embarrassing sometimes.

Spot on

If Beckham had made a donation it would have been front page news for a week .even one of his sons is making the news just for turning up at the site .many many stars and celebrities publicly made donations to the victims of the Manchester terrorist attack .didnt hear or any of them getting slagged off

Genuine question for @Armaan

You've made your stance on public announcements and charity pretty clear, can you please clarify whether you made the same pronouncements regarding Ya Ya publicly announcing he was donating 100k after the bombings?
