Personally i have no positive or negative bias, to each his own.

I have to admit though that the name "United" does seem a bit weird for a core fanbase that split of from another. I mean, genneraly "uniting things" comes down to fusing things toghether rather than to split apart. And it takes some name/brand value of the team it split off for recognition, as if to say "we are the alternative for disgruntled United fans". This does bring about a rather close association with Manchester united logicly, be it that even on wikipedia the team is described as founded by disgrunteld united fans so apparently it's no secret neither.

At that rate i wouldn't be surprised if Manu rather hated you for the potential of deviding up the fans even more. If this was US politics and you guys were a small party we actually would have reason to support you guys because youre a thorn in the side of our rival, although that said in reality it doesn't work always like that in politics because youre opposition could do the same and the big boys can actually genneraly agree that it's best to smother the little ones rather than let them grow on youre rivalry.

Maybe so but if you don't own it there's always the potential to get shafted somewhere down the line.

Actually there are a good number at FCUM who packed in premier league football in the 90s. Besides the trophies were still rolling in after 2005, 3 league titles on the bounce and the champions league not long after FCUM formed.

Fair enough for replying. Let's for the sake of argument say I agree with you on everything and a true fan owned club was the only solution, why is it just a mini United right down to the kit and not 'Freedom FC' or 'Manchester FC' or something neutral?

The fact your team is trading off the name of the very type of football club you claim is against your own moral values says exactly what type of hypocrite you are.

Because the club was created by United fans predominantly for United fans, "something neutral" would never have worked. Playing in red and having United in our name isn't against any moral values so no hypocrisy here I'm afraid. Come back to me once we brand our stadium or sign a contract with our brand new middle east toothpaste commercial partner and I might entertain you then.

So you couldn't support a club when it would go against your own morals and wanted to stand against capitalist premier league football, and you do this by apeing one of the teams in world football most responsible for the current financial state of the game in order to ride on some of their fame and notoriety? That seems hypocritical to me, but if it doesn't to you then fair enough.

And if you're just for miffed United fans you seriously missed a trick by not calling yourself Newton Heath and wearing yellow and green. Thanks for the debate though, but we're never going to agree so it's pointless.

Be honest here.... I have mentioned this topic in the past but you always dodge the question or point.
The previous general manager of the club (or whatever his title was) and members of the previous board shafted the club and fans big time. It seemed all members were equal, but some were more equal than others....
