Pep Guardiola will have to lead Manchester City's charm offensive to keep Alexis Sanchez out of the clutches of Manchester United. [@MullockSMirror]

A City source to Daily Mirror: “United are willing to pay more but the belief is that Sanchez would prefer a move to City for professional reasons.

The deal that's been proposed is too expensive when the fee Arsenal are demanding is included.”

The belief is that an appeal to Sanchez would be successful.

City feel a deal with Arsenal can still be negotiated if Sanchez makes it clear to Emirates bosses that he views a move to the Etihad as his only option. [Mirror]

Sanchez's advisers are looking for a £15m signing-on bonus in the belief that Arsenal's £35m asking price is not excessive.

City are willing to offer £20m + £5m in add-ons – and have made it clear they are not ready to go head-to-head financially with United. [Mirror]

That article pretty much sums up the 500 pages on here today!

I think it looks like Sanchez wants out now and he has got to be convinced by Pep that we really want him as our refusal to up the money to what he might think is a fair amount for himself could be viewed almost as an insult by the player. Though we are doing it for other reasons he should understand.

You can see why he is wavering and really might see United as his only way out as Arsenal clearly will take the money, his agent will, and if he thinks City are just after forcing Arsenal to get him on the cheap he could weaken over coming days.

We obviously hope he will not if he really wants to come to City and are gambling on Pep keeping his spirits up.

Could go either way and might stay like that for some time unless Arsenal want it sorted to sign Malcolm quickly.
