10 | Jack Grealish - 2023/24

Isnt he one of the most fouled players on the premier league over the last few years?

But he also doesnt have pace.

It would be nice to see him tried in an interior attacking midfield role with Foden, where he is by default in the box more and if he gets fouled its a penalty.

It also opens up his creativity and passing options and his lack of pace isnt as neccessary in the middle as we would like out wide in a Doku or Savio.

I think a 325 attack of this next season would be great to see from us:

3 CB

Rodri/Kovacic/Lewis
Pacqueta/KdB/Lewis

Doku/Frimpong/Savio
Foden/Bobb/KdB
Haaland/Alvarez
Grealish/Nunes/kdB
Savio/Doku

That puts all players in their BEST spots, KdB could be rotated in a couple of spots and we shouldnt need to rely on him with his age.

Requires 3 incomings.

His pace over half a pitch is very good, it's just that over a few yards it's only OK. Which again might mean he'd have more joy centrally and slightly further back.

But Pep has a job for him on the wing - his gravity draws opponents over to his side of the pitch and that's what makes the space. He opens up the centre and the other wing - they don't want to congest the middle of the pitch further.

Hard to believe we struggle to find space with Jack drawing opponents over to him and erling occupying 2 defenders in the middle. Something tells me a lot of it is an illusion.
