A fitting tribute to the three legends

One of the highlights of today, and there were many, was that three of the most important players in City’s modern history all scored and consequently their names will forever be entwined in the annals of football history.

Kompany, the perfect leader both on and off the field has never let his numerous injury problems stop him and his goal today was a fitting reward for an inspirational skipper who has overcome adversity and perfectly represents the club every fan dreams of supporting.

Aguero without question Citys greatest ever centre forward, and closing in on 200 goals, once again swung a major trophy in our direction and reminded every one how fortunate we are to have such an instinctive goalscorer.

And finally Silva, the little magician who has painted beautiful patterns on football pitches up and down the country ever since he arrived in 2010. A wonderfully gifted player who deserves to register a goal on the biggest of occasions particularly in a season which has been so difficult for the magician.

Thanks to all three of you, true City legends.
Great post.
Just a question. When David scored he raced away with his thumb in his mouth. Does that mean that his little Mateo is getting stronger everyday and will be home with his parents?

A statue of these 3, Zaba and Yaya would be nice.
How about a "mini Madame Tussard's" display in the main foyer with ALL these legends and the men who made these last ten years the best in our history.

Three of the big heroes of this era stood tall on Sunday and got the goals. The spine of the team from the last 5-10 years of Kompany, Silva and Aguero. Kompany and Aguero were class in the game.

The sad part was not having Toure around. The other legend who has been the hero of other finals and title wins. With Fernandinho going off it could have been him coming on for a last hurrah.

I hope he can sort things out with Pep as it'd be sad to end his career here with such a whimper. He's been a waste of a squad place this year and it's left the midfield short of cover. In reality he doesn't have much left to give.

Silva didn't do too badly either. Remember the third goal?

I agree with every word you say.

I think Pep and the Physios have seen that he just hasn’t buckled down this year to the regimen they gave him, and I said thus slower and heavier. It would most definitely be a good thing to win the League early and see Yaya put in a shift or two before leaving, but for me it is the player who has let himself down. Maybe he really doesn’t have it anymore, but one gets the sense that he has simply decided it is not worth the immense effort required to get “Pep fit” this year, knowing it is his last.

Tributes are paid at the end of careers and not one of those three legends looked anywhere near the end of theirs. At least one cut above.

the VK was celebrating like mad i was praying he wasn't going to injure himself!....what a performance from all 3...all of them stepped up and it shows just how valuable all 3 of them have been since arriving
How many of us went into a state of wild hysteria when Vinnie scored followed by a lump in the throat.....
