First-time passes fizzed and head always up looking for the next one. A bit of Pirlo and a bit of Lampard in his play.

Very clearly the MOTM tonight even before his goal. Needs to be ahead of Fernando in the pecking order, IMO. Obviously Fernando can serve a different role as far as coming on to close a game out like he did vs United, but Aleix should be starting ahead of him if we're resting Fernandinho or Gundogan in the future.

He's not anywhere near as good defensively as either of the Ferns though.

Motm performance against a premiership team away from home in a weakended side - speaks volumes for the kid..

Great player, got a good future in front of him.

Hope he has as good a career as his older brother Gaizka

Very assured performance from him, and took his goal brilliantly. A great prospect.

He was just as good v Chelsea last season in a disorganised shambolic team. For some reason didn't play again.

The question with this team is where to play him & with whom.

My question exactly. Given that our best midfield set up is Dinho holding and he slots into the back 4 effortlessly when needed and then Silva and KDB in front with two wide players. Gundo can slip in easily for Silva or KDB but which of those positions is Garcia best for.

Just to keep out feet on the ground this was a perfect game for Aleix to play as Swansea were not the greatest test as they sat most of the time just hoping to keep City out. He showed what EDS watchers know that he has a very good first touch, awareness of what's around him, plays simple stuff but can make the long pass and is a very calm composed footballer. He did get a few passes wrong trying to get through the lines but I guess that's going to happen ( it did quite often to Vinnie and Stones). So pleased for him to score as well and with great composure. Pep will have loved his performance I am sure
