"Anti-City" media propaganda war

how long did it take to bring out the 'if you criticize israel you are anti-semetic' jibe? I made a genuine point which is backed up be the hammering we get in the press. When city are often quoted in the press you will see the word 'city's arab owners plan this/intend this etc' to clearly distinguish between city owners and other owners of football clubs. You made reference to some kind of pact between israel and the uae-try getting to the uae with an israeli stamp on your passport. So if I am anti-semetic then so is sheikh mansour. I think you need to write him an email and tell him we dont want his 'anti-semetic' money anymore.
If criticising Israel is anti-Semitic then I'm anti-Semitic. However, that's not the argument I made at all. The part which I thought bordered on anti-Semitic was the part where you felt it necessary to point out the proprietor and owners of those New Corp and the football clubs listed were not not merely pro-Israeli but Jews and this was somehow related to being anti-Arab. Why should a Jew be anti-Arab? Can you should me which part of the Torah instructs Jews to be anti-Arab? I made no reference to pacts between the UAE and Israel. I said they have common allies and a common enemy and that the UAE represents no threat to Israel. If I were you I would hasten unto a field and spend your time discussing your views on Middle Eastern politics to scarecrows; men made of straw.

You clearly have a very limited knowledge of the world and how things work in the real world of football and politics. Its no point wasting my time with ignorant people like yourself. Go and watch some news and you might learn a few things.

nor is the BBC.
Things have changed under Mark Thompson.
Glad you told me that. Just looking at the BBC website and the lead story is the one about Israeli forces firing on protestors trying to storm the border. Not a mention of the 90 protestors killed by Syrian forces on Friday.
Not that it's particularly relevant to claims of anti-Israeli bias but: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-13662296" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-13662296</a>

It's on the main page of world news. That's pretty well advertised.

BTW just for the record..
I hate the current Israeli Govt's politics but so do many of it's own (Jewish) citizens.

There is a brave group of dissidents called Jewish Voice for Peace who are as disgusted by the actions of their right wing govt as any of us are .

All I'm saying is that we need to be careful about lumping people into groups..

If you all tell your mums that the naughty newspaper man is writing stories that make you cry then maybe they'll do something?
As a veteran Blue Mooner (24k poster since 2004) have you noticed the huge number of "anti-City" articles from the media.
From "liddle ol' citeh" who the rags loved to have in the top division "because it was a gauranteed 6 points"... to..."noisy neighbours, moneybags City ruining football."
As City fans we have mostly learnt to have thick skins but it would be nice to think that one day we might look forward to a reasonably level playing field?
