Brentford (A) | Post Match Thread

Great post, the only think I disagree agree with is the freak thing, if we play like we did against Madrid and Arsenal nothing is stopping us as we will be out of sight.

Cheers. The thing is football can be unpredictable. We can swamp teams and bad luck and the keeper having a great game can trip us up. Even against Madrid, who we battered, we were 1-0 up and it should have been 3 as Courtois made two brilliant saves. Then out of nowhere Kroos hits the bar from 30 yards. Those are the fine margins.

OK this is disastrous. :(
But I just can't understand how this happened. They played before 11 days the Real Madrid home game normally and did not seem to have anything.
And then, according to this "10 days", they stopped training, obviously because they have a not that minor issue.

But then why did Pep say on Friday that all players are fit for Sunday(today)?

Anyway, Dias is extremely important for us, when he came back we never lost a game(36 undefeated?) and we went on a huge run as he did tidy the defense.
Grealish is also very important as he was excellent this 2nd half of the year being a constant big threat on the left side.
So if they will miss any final it will be a huge blow :(

Pep said they have not trained with the first team for 10 days. does not mean feet up on holiday does it

Pep like's the players that are playing in the next games to train as the first team on setups and formations, players that will not play normally train or do gym or fitness training

Yes spot on, nothing is a gimme, some don't see that. But much rather be us than them going into both finals.

Result was dissapointing but insignificant today. Pep and his staff have managed the players how they see necessary. If we had played the first team they might've been pulling out of 50/50s and playing within themselves exactly like the reverse fixture at home before the world cup. By the way, Brentford are due a battering from us next season!

On another note, some squad players have shown their true colours others are just not up to the needed level so its;
Adios and Gracias Gomez off to Girona you go, Kalvin thanks lad but even 2 full pre-seasons cant save you, farewell. And lastly Mahrez, piss off to wherever Joao Cancelo fvcked off to!!

Phil well played see you in the finals, Julian, Rico and Cole fix up! and see you next season.
