Met him at the Metropolitan just up the road from there. I'd spent several hours at the Golden Lion before watching us draw with Chelsea. He'd been at Old Trafford watching Fulham turn over the rags.

Wouldnt have blamed him for ignoring a pissed up Aussie wanting a chat, but he was a thorough gentleman.
