Think it through - city were turning down people trying to buy tickets at £200+ for the boat trip yet you think they did that and then sent tickets back to Chelsea? You are wrong, just like you were wrong about the southampton game.badge said:and yeah, this guy must be as daft as me. fancy thinking city would return tickets!

i'm making the point that it's not unreasonable to assume it was city that returned the tickets. nothing ridiculous about it at all. have you ever heard of any fan returning tickets to the club? who the fuck would return tickets for one of the biggest matches of the season? chelsea also have their own ticket exchange scheme, negating the need for fans to return them to the club. and i wasn't wrong about the southampton game either. you will note that the ticket information for that game includes one very telling word: initial. so why, when those tickets were sold out SEVENTEEN DAYS BEFORE the game, did we not request the extra allocation when it must have been apparent that we could have sold another seven hundred?
i accept there is a slim chance i could be wrong, but the fact that you seem so incapable of grasping the fact that the most logical explanation for returned tickets is usually the visiting club, baffles me.
With City nor Chelsea saying tickets have been returned by city why assume they were without one shred of evidence?
If they were and we only took the sale or return allocation of 1,500, we would not have returned them and Chelsea would have sold them from day one.
Southampton has always been a low demand game for CIty fans due to distance and the extra allocation has to be requested 6 weeks in advance not 17 days (unless the home club never sells out were they may give the away club more favourable terms but it isn't the case with Chelsea).
City used to sell corporate seats the middle of the east stand at the back on the day of the game at normal prices if they couldn't sell the accompanying hospitality packages, and the Chelsea ticket exchange is just for season ticket holders.
Next time someone winds you up try and think about it.
