Seems to me that football and cricket professional sportsmen are playing far too much……to the detriment of their games in order to make more ££$$ for the TV companies……

Franchise cricket is where the money is at now and Test cricket is dying a slow death.Seems to me that football and cricket professional sportsmen are playing far too much……to the detriment of their games in order to make more ££$$ for the TV companies……
Test cricket is still the best format of the game but unless England, India or Australia are playing the public just isn't interested.
Watched 30 mins of South Africa vs West Indies yesterday and there was probably no more than 1000 spectators at the ground. Compare this to India vs Australia this morning and the ground was pretty much full.
The Ashes is sold out but The ICC have put all their eggs in one basket with the one day game they have neglected Test Cricket and just don't know how to make Test Cricket popular again.
Michael Holding saw this coming about 10 years ago and called The ICC out on this but they did absolutely nothing

winning a test with a bye off the last ball can't happen often, with an injured batsman and a direct hit being a fraction too late for SL.
