Drove past the stadium this morning and got to thinking about just how big the collar site is. At the moment its being used as a Car Park on matchdays and it got me wondering about how the Club would replace these parking spaces once they start developing it.

Wouldn't multi-storey car parks solve this issue? If they are looking to maximise their land utilisation I'd imagine that would be the route they would take.

If it was me, I'd put up some big car park in Droylsden or Ashton-under-Lyne and try and get people to use the tram as a park and ride type thing.

Ashton Moss would be better as its close to the M60 so could be handy for people from all directions... Except west obviously. They'd need to make sure there's enough trams though, otherwise you might as well get within a 15 minute walk and park on a street for free, like I do now.

There are 2 park and rides planned for Ashton Moss and Ashton West, holding a total of 600 cars.

Just so long as they don't paint yellow lines on Riverpark Road, I'm all in favour of more public transport!

A little off the subject but does anyone feel the super casino which was once going ahead will actually be built in the coming years ? I think it would be great for the area

Anyone know if the new stadium wifi system is going to be ready for the start of the season?

Spoke with club recently, yes the network is already in place so ready for game 1 but the added match day experience such as instant replays to phones will be later in the season. Network has been supplied by O2 but my contact says he understand will be accessible on all networks

The title is "Etihad Campus & potential new stadium" - should it not read as the "Etihad Campus & new stadium" now.

On a note, the new stadium, I hope it is named something like The Ken Barnes Stadium with stands such as Micah Richards, Alan Oakes, Mike Doyle & Bert Trautmann etc.
It should be in touch with the club's local (and legendary) talent of old and the future.

I've no idea, but I would have thought that such a place would be against Muslim ethics. Then again, alcohol is sold within the stadium itself so I suppose it could be done.

The super casino was dead in the water as soon as Tony Blair stood down as Prime Minister. It is not likely to be revived, Certainly not at Eastlands.

Zero chance of that mate.

Maybe a third party may build one in the future but it will definitely not form part of The Campus. The Club or MCC will have no part in it.
