These Tottenham players all lack poise and technical intelligence.

All power and bluster and you can see why they work many a Premier League team over, but against an opponent a cut above, they look exactly what they are, punchers rather than boxers.

Alli lacks awareness and turns into trouble all the time, wasting numerous chances to send Sterling or another runner clear, because he holds on to the ball far too long.

Dier is far from top class and Kane will need to move on at some stage to realise his potential to the max.

City do lack some of this physicality, so can see why on Walker, we just have to hope our superior technicians can bring him up another level.

Excellent TH right on the money!

England have played to their strengths for many years. Unfortunately those strengths are running and jumping. OK for an athletics competition or rugby but not world class football.
Think of the elite footballers of the last 10, 20, 30, 40 years and I can't say that running a lot is what they were good at. The great teams might have had 1 or 2 athletes but predominantly skills and decision making in play have won the day.
The nearest we came was 90 and I'd never think athleticism and Lineker and Waddle in the same sentence. Lazy, yes.

Having said that, don't give a flying fuck about Engerland and all that meeja hypetastic bollocks.
