what was, or has so far been, the highlight of your own personal footballing career?
no matter what level:
playground, inter-schools, sunday league, trials, 5-aside, semi-pro or even pro,
we all have a top memory.

i gave up on playing in my early teens when i discovered einstein, da vinci, girls and sitting down,
but, looking back, up until then i (rather modestly) reckon i was all right at footy.
played in the centre of defence but liked to get forward,
had a thunderously accurate shot from distance and scored one or two belters.

what are your best memories of playing?

mine was scoring a 90th minute winner on a sodden winter pitch...
having strongly won the ball on the half-way line,
i somehow managed to blunder/dribble to the edge of their box.
everyone in the home crowd roared, well, all 30 of them.
i somehow slotted it into the top right hand corner,
and ended up face down in the mud.
it felt the whole world had jumped on top of me in celebration.
i broke a rib and took up advanced maths instead.

has anyone played, or does anyone play, at a fairly good level?

and admit it if you are/were really shit.

I was a mixture of David Silva & Graeme Souness

Silva's height & Sounesses tash

I once scored an absolute belting own goal from the half way line.their goalie kicked it out of his hands and we had kept a really high line so I tried to help it back to the keeper on the volley but it went like a tracer bullet in the top corner
