Thanks for that Blue. Really interesting. I hope Stevie knows how much the fans appreciate his effort, commitment, attitude and of course his talent. I can remember the first time I saw him play, in a pre season friendly at Stoke under Pearce. He looked useful then, but of course he's five times as good now.
What really encourages me is that he's dissatisfied with his performances! He's no reason to be, but that's the attitude that drives improvement and being a world class player. He's got all the ability to be a Premier League legend. He's a shoo-in for player of the season. In an era when we hear lots about the Bentley culture, laziness, arrogance etc. Stevie is evidence that not all footballers are bad eggs.
Also I hope that he keeps his zany streak! No doubt next time he brings out the superman pants he'll get another rebuke from the FA, but I hope he ignores it - it's hardly offensive stuff, and players are supposed to be entertainers, not joyless robots.
