Re: Newcastle Vs City Pre match Discussion Thread

Plenty of time for players to recover, same team Bert.

Re: Newcastle Vs City Pre match Discussion Thread

The Barcodes have 9 injuries on physioroom.com but most are knocks with expected return dates tomorrow against Chelsea. It would help us a lot if Cabaye didn't make it, he has been one of the league's best midfielders this season.

Hopefully Obertan is back though. :D

D Simpson Knock 2nd May 12 Late Fit Test
Y Cabaye Knock 2nd May 12 Late Fit Test
G Obertan Knock 2nd May 12

Re: Newcastle Vs City Pre match Discussion Thread

Don't see anything but a win on Sunday. Our players know if we win this match we lift the trophy.

Call me arrogant, but Hughes' side isn't going to take anything off of us on the last day.

Re: Newcastle Vs City Pre match Discussion Thread

Anyone else think we go three in midfield for this one?

---------------------------Hart---------------------
Zabaleta------Kompany-------Lescott------Clichy
-------------De Jong-------------Barry------------
--------------------------Yaya----------------------
Nasri-----------------------------------------Silva
-------------------------Aguero--------------------

Re: Newcastle Vs City Pre match Discussion Thread

Not de jong, after the ben arfa incident from last season if he starts it will fire up the crowd which what we dont want. I would play the same side we have played the last few weeks get 1 or 2 goals in front and bring on milner or de jong for silva and push yaya up.

Newcastle away - it could've been a worse fixture

Don't get me wrong I know this will be a hard game, but I do think this Newcastle at SJP fear is a little overstretched(unless we pick up an early red card)... Newcastle play football that I think suits our style, we all know we play within that narrow quadrant in the midfield and we've prooved how good it is against the United bus..NC won't park the bus... If we had had any of the following away I would be much more worried:-

Everton
Chelsea
Spurs
Stoke
Liverpool ( i know they're shit there recently but always seem to get a result against us)
Wigan
Fulham

Not being arrogant or disrespectful to Newcastle...However,there is always the City factor :-)

Re: Newcastle away - it could've been a worse fixture

It's a good point. Newcastle may well come at us given they could need a big result to retain 4th spot. If they play open against us, that could play into our hands and give Silva and Nasri scope to create havoc.
