Me too, but not at York away.

I was one of those stood on the Kippax and like yourself I was not at York away. (But I went to Darlington on a Friday night if that counts)

What a following we took to both games. I was on the side terrace for the first game. The Gidman goal is right up there in terms of going bananas.
I missed the 2nd replay - had to head back to polytechnic. My dad went on his own in the car - “it was carnage son.”!!

I don’t think there’s any footage of the Gidman goal which is a shame but in an age now where everything in life is captured digitally it’s nice to hark back to a time when you only have the images in your own mind of such a special moment - one of those mental celebrations where you’re absolutely breathless at the end of it and you’re stood nowhere near where you were stood and if you didn’t have hold of your mate you can’t see him anywhere

I think it was, late 80s. It came up in a quiz and it bugged me at the time because I always knew it as Leeds Road, but it had another name (which I can't remember...)

Fartown was the name of the Rugby ground I think, only ever known it as Leeds Road
