He's a cracking player, a fair price given his technical ability and physical presence. Also shows he can recover from serious injuries well.
Both him and Redmond are quality English players - of which we as a club need to be investing in.

£30 million is probably about right ,if you think about it he's already ahead of most in the England squad with a potential 15 years ahead of him !

£30m would be a ridiculous price for Barkley, but it would be par for the course from Everton. They'd charge you a tenner for a £5 note. He looks decent enough, but for £30m you should be getting one of the worlds best players, not just the latest english talent to receive the hype treatment

I'd say £20-24m is about right. He's not worth Isco level transfer fees.

Tottenham have been quoted £30m by Southampton for Luke Shaw too. Southampton are well within their rights, but when people complain about a lack of English signings, this is the problem... you have to pay double (and sometimes more) the worth to get one of the few who might be good enough.

But we had no choice, we need English players. Yeah, I like Pogba & Gundogan better than Barkley. But....City is English club, we need English players.

He's the real deal. Given that Isco went to Madrid for 26m I don't think a similar fee would be unfair.
