Russian invasion of Ukraine

Apparently, it's also up to the Duma nowadays to declare non-Russian passports as "invalid" when they wish ...

sorry im a bit confused around the russians fighting(FRL) against russia, are they part of the ukrainian forces,or are they trying to start a civil war seperate from the ukrainian effort ?

Crimean Tartars as well (Ukraine), burned the whole city but the Kremlin. So eight time lucky, wasn't thinking Napoleon, didn't think he'd gotten that far tbh.
Yep, entered Moscow...but all the population had fucked off with their belongings. That's when his problems started. No food available and got battered all the way back to France. Fraction of his half a million army arrived back.

Probably should be "don't march on Moscow unless you can hit the bastards from the east as well as from the west".

Nothing to do with Ukraine, no sir, apparently just picked up their tanks from the local Spa, bit of a mystery how it all got organised, seems the locals don't want to be in Russia, maybe Russia should accept the facts on the ground to advance the cause of peace etc etc

Ukraine "captured" lots of russian kit early on in the war, maybe these rebels are using some of that ?

The units which crossed the border point at Grayvoron have already withdrawn back to Ukraine. There are still claims from both sides that there are ongoing fights at smaller towns west of Grayvoron, but I will wait for visual confirmation, as I did the whole time regarding this cross-border raid.

I read that 80-100 ethnic Russians were involved which is not even a full company, at least according Western standards. Like I mentioned before, this whole event will spook the Kremlin and it definitely did. The biggest concern for the Kremlin is the fact that the fighter are ethnic Russians. Even the Russian media did not try to hide that fact and called them (Russian) "Nationalists". That will open a complete independent chapter in this conflict.

Cross-border raids are special chapter in war history. They are very random, limited and in general more focused in testing the responsiveness of the enemy and keeping the other side alerted. Pakistan and India have been doing this practically since their independence though in recent years it has become rather quiet. It will be interesting to see what that will bode for the war in Ukraine and Russia.

Think the logistics of attacking Moscow are pretty much insurmountable...industry and armed forces will just withdraw as per WW11. GDM has stated previously that east of Moscow is basically a wilderness.

Fuck 'em...let them have their scrubland but make western borders unbreachable.
