Sol Campbell

"I'm one of the greatest minds in football"

In fairness, the competition isn't exactly fierce.

Dwight Yorke & Sol Campbell , both got one thing in common , played the race card to hide behind that as the reason they haven't got top managers jobs .......could it be that they're both thick arrogant ****s who believe the world owes them a living ? Try starting at the very bottom & working your way up .

He does himself no favours with the stuff he comes out with
Anyone looking to employ a manager will run a mile from him, he comes across as an arrogant narcissist, and seems to enjoy shooting himself in the foot

I just listened to his interview on the podcast he did it on and 'thick arrogant .....' is absolutely right. Aside from the 'greatest mind in football' quote, he was talking about getting a job in management. Talked about how easy it must be to run a football club, said its not rocket science. Talked about how he should be given a chance and he doesn't mind starting a bit lower than the prem, but not too low as thats beneath him. Then he'd just go in and run it, get them to the play offs, maybe even win the league, it would be easy.

It was cringeworth stuff and summed up perfectly why he hasn't been offered a job.

Soon as I saw the thread title, I knew we would be going down this road, Campbell is just a bitter ex player who believes football still owes him a living, he has retired, it doesnt, the reason for that is, he has nothing to offer football, he has no managerial or coaching pedigree and seems to spend his time bleating on about how the colour of his skin has held him back.. Truth is, he earned a lot of money for being a fairly decent football player, those days are gone, he needs to shut his gob and either earn a living or continue living off the proceeds of his playing days...!

He could have earned a few bob as a pundit if he had played his cards right (no pun intended), especially when you look at the quality of the pundits out there at the moment, that wont ever happen as the media wont touch him with a barge pole now as he would only use the air time to continue with his fake news agenda...!

This is the entirety of the Wikipedia entry on Sol Campbell's coaching career.

On 30 January 2017, Campbell was named as Dennis Lawrence's assistant manager, after the latter was appointed manager of the Trinidad and Tobago national team.[100]

So he retired from playing 6 years ago, and yet didn't do any professional coaching until two month ago, and expects to be offered a manager's job. But then this is a man who also tried to become the mayor of London, so he's no stranger to applying for jobs he's blatantly unqualified for. He's going for the Governor of the Bank of England next.

Maybe he should look to the coaching career of his fellow teammate Patrick Vieira for some clues.
