Songs we no longer sing.

Or the other version, apologies to Brian Kidd, now one of our own.

Kiddo, Kiddo is off to Mexico
To help the wogs clean out the bogs
Kiddo , Kiddo

Or another politically incorrect favourite.

Harry Roberts is our friend ,is our friend
He kills coppers

We would all get arrested these days for singing the above

Did we really use to sing about beating the shit out of scousers? Thats some green street bollocks. Scary to think that was the norm

Well the full version of singing the blues is
verse 1
never felt more like singing the blues
city win united lose
oh city you got me singing the blues
verse 2
never felt more like laughing all night
cause city are great and united are shite
oh city you got me laughing all night
verse 3
never felt more like twating a red
baseball bat around his head
oh city you got me twating a red
verse 3 other version
never felt more like kicking a red
in his head until he's dead
oh city you got me kicking a red

you can see why we dropped the other verses not very civil

the second line was even worse.

i remember when i first started to follow city as a youngster i thought people were singing
"we'll drink a drink a drink
to colin mcclink mcclink mcclink,
he's the leader of man city,
he's the greatest inside forward
that the world has ever seen"

i sang it like that for ages, never asking what the fuck mcclink even meant.
haha, what a prannock.
Looking back on it the spurs are on their way song was probably the worst song we have ever sung ,absolutely wrong on every level,
If we sung it today it would cause some diplomatic incident.
It actually made the runway song look quite a nice tribute in comparison

The 'M and a and N, a C I T a Y, we've got the greatest football team...' and 'Joe Mercer came, we played the game' are absolute gems. I used to love 'Who let the Goat out (or in as the case maybe!) and a chant we should do more to inspire the boys (and shut the opposing fans up) is the legendary 'CITY, CITY, CITY, CITY....' war cry, such as a shame that it has only been heard again in recent times after the (now defunct) 'Poznan', 'It should have been 10', or at the start or end of the game

The 'Istanbul' song should be either another Wembley or Guardiola song and we should re-claim it from those Trafford imposters with immediate effect

Always funny watching old motd s or the big match on ITV when the away team scored you can always hear
Your going to get your f***in head kicked in
Straight after

I remember it as

Who's your father, who's your father, who's your father referee,
You ain't got one, you're a bastard, you're a bastard referee...

Nice eh?

It was so effective - there was real venom in it.

Imagine a live game on Sky or BT with this belting out and Tyler trying to ignore it or Howard 'Rag' Web saying he thinks Mark may have got that wrong.

Oh his name is Colin Bell
And from Bury he did come.
To play for old Joe Mercers team back in division one,
And when you walk down Maine Road you'l always hear us cry.
We are the best team in the land which no one can deny.
Lah La lah and so on,,,,,
