U18's games/results 2016/17

the under 18`s seem to have a lot of 16 year olds in the team

Already missing to day were Sancho,Francis and Diaz ( although he is hardly an 18's anymore) also no Luke Bolton and then Latibeaudierre got a bit of an injury so we saw Nathaniel Ogbeta at center back ( looked good too) plus Taylor Richards and Henri Ogunby who both look more than ok at this level. Add to that Jeremie Frimpong and you certainly have some young young players.

Not the best performance today even though we were miles the better side and had a few top individual performances. The first half was really enjoyable but only 2 nil and in the 2nd half we just missed too many chances

Last years u18's were prematurely promoted to the u23's to make room for this current potentially golden generation of u18's, last years undefeated u16s.

That's why they are nearly all 16 & 17.

Some of them (Sancho, Francis) are 16 and playing in the u23's already against kids 6 & 7 years older.

It's beautiful isn't it.

What's more beautiful is that Francis and Sancho look like they belong at that level already. It's a telling sign when players are promoted but get even better amongst better players.

Maybe the exposure to first team training is having an impact too.

A lot of the under 18's games are played on an outside pitch rather than in the academy stadium so I guess City are not keen (not bothered) about a crowd turning up to watch. For games to be played in the stadium they fo advertise them but maybe they could do better but it does seem somehow City fans never have been great at turning up for youth games, compered to some other clubs.

Big game for the 18's next wedesday though in the youth cup against Liverpool and definitely in the academy stadium.

I think most of the advertising takes place at HT in one of the games! There's very little on the OS about these games other than getting onto the ticket bit and getting a ticket. And then we find out there's been one with some brief highlights. You really have to scour the website to keep abreast of anything other than the first team. Same with the women!
