Watched BBC London news last night - they had a few people on there talking about the ever rising cost to the public of maintaining their stadium. There are genuine calls for it to knocked down and for them to start again with a new stadium for West Ham. It'll be interesting if the Mayor's report comes to a similar conclusion, because at present they think it's total cost will come close to a billion when all is said and done. A prime example being the retractable seating, which should cost £300k a year but it's actually costing over £8million, which after a number of years adds up a fair bit. I'm interested to see what it's like next week - I can't say I'm expecting great things with that huge gap between the upper and lower stands.
