Agree completely. Proper fullbacks, top quality young keeper and we are going to be some side. Possibly add a young DM, Weigl-type.
Exactly, you are dead right with adding someone of Weigl as well as a hopeful return for Gundogan, it's back to being so exciting again - just seeing the impact Sane and Jesus have had on the entire squad is mouth watering.

Last night reconfirmed that while as a CB he can have a great game and rarely has a poor one, as a fullback he's not bad at the defending side but his passing is consistently a hindrance to our attack. It makes no sense :-)

Wish we had better LB options than Clichy and Kolorov.

Ive never rated Kolarov but I know some used to rate him as an attacking full back, the attacking side of his game has all but disappeared now. When you couple that with the fact he has never been able to defend at LB his days playing that position have to be all but numbered. He has done ok at CB and that is the only position I would consider him for. Having said that Clichy is not much of an option these days.

I'd love if Pep tried and succeeded with someone else there, e.g. Fernandinho or Diallo or something else out of left field (although we'd need them inside of left field or it'd be constant throwins).

He played reasonably well last night and he doesn't let us down too much when played as a CB but lets be frank here, as a full back normally he is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

2 new full backs in the summer and this side will go to the next level.

Another magnificent game. Easily the best centre half at the club. Must play even if Kompany return s I would play the pair of them and develop Stones slowly. Otamendi will probably go in summer. The pass to Sterling for the pen that should have been was superb.

Highly doubt it.

Another solid performance by Kolarov, at LB this time. Fully understand why Pep keeps picking him. Funny thing is, many fans don't, or do not wanna. It's not in their system anymore to value Kolarov and what he brings to the team. Whatever, but I am totally fine seeing his name in the starting line-up either as a CB or a LB.

MOTM performance and showing again what a valuable player he is in this Pep team. Any idea how many times he was asked to start the build up play? Stones not enough confidence. Clichy not able to. Yaya with his back towards the opponents goal. Even when KdB or Jesus dropped back they played it to one man.
Poor defensively? If he is all our defenders other than a fit Kompany are Championship material. Time to give Kolarov more respect.

I have very low self esteem, so forgive me for taking this opportunity to (honestly) say;

I always knew he was a very decent defender and footballer, with far more mental strength than people thought. He got stick for not playing the hard man... but for a couple of seasons he's been far and away the cleverest of our players at winning FKs from F.A. Time after time, he gets his legs between ball and tackler and gives the ref no option.

Pleasantly suprised how well he coped in the air today.

I genuinely cant see where the praise comes from?

He often invites pressure, and problems, with his backwards or sideways passing, frequently into the feet of a team mate who is already being pressed, and he constantly gives away school boy fouls - his all round decision making is generally piss poor.
Add that to the fact he looks like he's running in treacle, has a turning circle bigger than a double decker bus,and it really does make for a very poor footballer.

I cant wait to see the back of him.

MOTM performance? Steady on. He had a fairly solid game but is hugely one footed and he slowed down play on lots of occasions when we need to breaking out fast. John Stones is willing to drive forward with the ball and Aleks needs to do this too. Didn't put a foot wrong but MOTM is stretching it a little.
