Complaint to BBC regarding Pete the Badge

Cheers mate.

I say we get tough with all of them. We've been far too soft for far too long.
We can't do much about the red-top papers and radio stations like TalkShite but the BBC is expected to abide by a wide-ranging set of editorial & ethical standards and it's failed to do that pretty consistently and comprehensively.

I've had a bullshit response from the PA to the Head of Sport but I'm going to try again one more time before I start the process of taking this all the way up to the BBC Trust.

that's ok as long they expect us fight back. to be honest with our wealth and power we have been somewhat a fucking wimp in this department.

I think the club thought, wrongly, that if they remained humble and pleasant to all and sundry and tried doing the right thing they would be treated fairly. Plough millions into the local economy, try to get a team playing beautiful football and appoint one of the most respected and revered coaches in world football.....Surely that would do it? Wrong! They didn't understand the cesspit of utter shite they had to deal with in this country regarding the media. An institution riddled with rags, dippers, Arsenal and Spurs fan's who absolutely hate our club with a passion and will do anything to derail it's progress. That's it in a nutshell.

This week they stooped to an all time low when a supposed impartial media outlet, funded by the public, took the piss out of a harmless pensioner and held him up for public ridicule, when the bloke should be getting an award for his unwavering loyalty over fifty years. Just pulling the offensive comments are not enough. The damage has been done and I hope the club now realise you cannot trust or get into bed with these vipers, you have to call in pest control and get them under control. Go get them City!!

Yes, absolutely this.

Surely they are governed by some sort of legislation they have to adhere to and answerable to an indipendent body?

Yes but it's self-regulating and pretty weak. I'm more worried about the BBC, who have editorial guidelines that clearly have been completely & deliberately ignored. The club should be calling the relevant senior managers of Radio 5 Live, BBC TV and the Head of Sport in and asking them a series of very pointed questions about how and why they've breached these guidelines and what controls they plan to put in place to ensure there is absolutely no recurrence in future.

When I was in the classroom I had a simple mantra regarding how I was gonna treat the 'clients' I would be nice if they were nice, but they had to be nice first. This is the way to treat the RDAHMeedya. If they are nice, MCFC should be nice, but if they are cnuts then they can fuck off until they start and continue to be nice!

Hopefully they will. I don't think we as fan's should rely on that we should go down as many routes as possible to hammer the bastards.

This was off the back of the Goebbels-esque MOTD2 effort - BBC media city is nothing short of a publicly-funded part of the united marketing department. Sickening that we pay for this shit

Top post mate.

@Prestwich_Blue Good to see you're not letting it go. Well done. Would be good to read the response but if you can't I understand.

@Prestwich_Blue well done so far. I think it is a good step to have someone who appears to know who to contact to complain about these things both to the club and the BBC. You can also articulate the points very well, please keep us informed and let the bastards know as a fan base we are up in arms and we are onto them, indeed we have been for a while. Only an apology and some grovelling is going to stop us escalating this further, at great embarrassment to themselves.

This one:
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...er-city-tottenham-pep-guardiola-a7540346.html

It's Herbert, so as usually it's got errors in it - such as the halftime score of all things - and snideness. I think it's meant to be ironic.

The trouble with this arse not getting his simple facts right is that it throws the rest of his tripe into question, such as did this actually happen at all?
Thanks for that link, im glad it got the attention of the others cockroaches in the press box and not just a few of them around the one I had a go at. I went back to get a picture of him to find out who he was but the city security(the decent ones) got me and had a word so I still don't know which one it was.

I was watching him type his half time report along the lines of city playing well and giving us some praise then seen him delete it all and started typing about an under pressure Aguero and how he's unsettled etc and may leave, that's when I was called him out over it and called him a lying wanker etc etc etc.

Can you imagine if the club tweeted a picture of a BBC employer and entitled it 'I wonder whether this grovelling rag pays his TV licence or is he a paedo'. I wonder what the uproar would be like

How come it takes about 6 complaints to get Russle Brand and Jonathon Ross sacked yet multiple complaints regarding the unprovoked bullying of a loyal ageing City fan simply fall on deaf ears.

This is typical of the BBC they are so far up the rags backside especially the local radio station. it was while Fergie was manager that he banned them from the ground, but now that they have been welcomed back they can't do enough to support them. I wonder if it is time that we did the same thing to the local BBC station. I would issue them with a finial warning that if they ever broadcast anything about Manchester City that has not been ratified as true by the club they could see themselves banned from the Etithad complex until they learn not to tell lies but only the truth.

Theyre all fuckn no marks at the beeb...An organization based on guffaws and hoo ray Henrys..Their license fee days are numbered, as like always they're 50 years behind everyone else. Pete the badge is a true Blue and 50 years ahead of them.

Proper supporter Vs Prop supports.......hmmmm its a toughey. :)

Well done for having a go at the wankers. I have read that report, I have to laugh at the comment about our humour and us calming down, they would like that wouldn't they? I think we are on of the most patient fan bases and humorous but we will not stand by and be hammered week after week unfairly, that is nothing to do with humour, we just want a fair go.

I am surprised you can get to these cockroaches I would have thought they were in some protected area.

I've just emailed Barbara Slater's PA and invited her (BS that is not Julie the PA) to do a similar Q&A to the one Mike Riley did 5 years ago. We'll see if she takes me up on the offer.

We will see, if so we will get a public relation exercise and a ''We will certainly look into any concerns you have'' whitewash answer. It is good though we have them on the hook we need to not let them slip off. We also want an apology for Pete.
