Complaint to BBC regarding Pete the Badge

We can't do much about the red-top papers and radio stations like TalkShite but the BBC is expected to abide by a wide-ranging set of editorial & ethical standards and it's failed to do that pretty consistently and comprehensively.

I've had a bullshit response from the PA to the Head of Sport but I'm going to try again one more time before I start the process of taking this all the way up to the BBC Trust.
Point out if they thought fuck all was wrong why did they change the wording.

They didn't claim nothing was wrong with it just that she couldn't respond directly to individual complaints. Quite clearly it was wrong on any number of levels and clearly breached a number of editorial guidelines. Hence they removed it.

But today, our friend Simon Stone has been tweeting from the swamp about an event than has no discernible news value but is clearly a promotion for Tag Heuer. Again, that breaches their guidelines.

Jesus how I hate that corporate speak.....''I can't respond to individual complaints'' fucking shithouses!! As for Stone he is a slug of the highest order and should be banned from our place or the BBC told they will not deal with him, their choice.

I noticed this before PB and was wondering if it breached guidelines, but to be honest I'm not really surprised. The BBC will do anything to give United a headline.

He and the rest of the rag infested albeeb need banning from our ground. I haven't had a TV licence for years given that their sports department has been outsourced to MUTV since their move to Salford Quays.

I would say this sort of stuff surprised me but you only have to look at the BBCs track record of scandals to understand how low they would stoop.

As all of us , I think the nasty and cruel words used towards Pete the Badge are both shocking , and a step to far in the media's campaign of hatred towards City and now an innocent fan . I see Pete at many games and he puts a smile on my face , no doubting who he supports and he is proud to display that support , more than the spiteful hateful journalists who hide behind there newspapers , radio or TV stations . Pete shames them with his pride and love of his club . Hope the club waken and defend him , think it's time to fight back against the haters and poison individuals who attack our club , a good honest club , who's only crime is to change from perennial fail to success , from financial poor to financial sound.

Do you know what the club are doing about this? any real chance that they will take a hard line and ban all but our choice of the slugs

I take it you've not read the entire thread?

Nothing ever gets done the British press/media are untouchable they do what they want and squirm their way out of any heat that comes back on them.

Yeah you've got a point about red tops at least we can just not by or read the papers and choose something else or not listen to talkshite.

The thing with me and the BBC that really annoys me is the fact that I have to fund the fucking thing just to be able to watch any television.

How come it takes about 6 complaints to get Russle Brand and Jonathon Ross sacked yet multiple complaints regarding the unprovoked bullying of a loyal ageing City fan simply fall on deaf ears.
Because us punters are treated with utter contempt, and Andrew Sachs was a National Treasure. It was real bad publicity. Nobody at the BBC really gives a f**k about City.

I've just emailed Barbara Slater's PA and invited her (BS that is not Julie the PA) to do a similar Q&A to the one Mike Riley did 5 years ago. We'll see if she takes me up on the offer.

Nice one PB....the openess of the attacks that comes our club way from nearly all angles are getting now beyond the so-called joke. It is basically happening on a week by week occassion be it by TV, radio, newspaper or text commentary (bbc)....

We should produce a match day banner and display it at a televised game

What relevance did ' Leicester dismantled Man city at the Etihad last season ' have to do with tonight's FA cup game ?

Just ban the individual reporters from there respective paper or network tell them they can send someone else but that individual is not welcome on the manchester City premises till that person respects the Manchester City employees.
