John Stones - 2016/17 performances

No coincidence that he is playing so well now that he is on the right side of the defence. Looking very assured and composed on the ball.

In the summer he needs to forget about a holiday and get himself in the gym everyday and put on muscle. He's built like a pipe cleaner and he needs to be a lot stronger.

Redemption story. I will still remain loath to criticize Stones because he is surrounded by issues in that backline. He obviously has a lot to learn but he did great today to fight back to help the team win.

We must get behind him as I think he has not been helped by his centre back partners or by our ageing fullbacks. He will be a great player for us and is only 22!

Must learn to be a defender first, if he puts the ball in the stand, their third goal doesn't happen.

Potentially world class, but very much still a work in progress. Signing a top experienced centre back to play alongside him this summer is definitely required.

talk about a love/hate relationship , amateur mistake against a has been centre forward and then he scores a vital goal , not sure how good or bad this lad will be but he is learning the hard way.

Got abandoned for Falcao's second. Set up Sergio's second. Scored the winner. Didn't put a foot wrong defensively after the 3rd goal. I like him.

He was doing ok until he got out muscled by Falcao. But he didn't drop his head he went up the other end and made things right. We've seen good and bad from him but he's only 22 and I think he's only gonna get better.

Made a mistake for their 3rd goal but didn't let it affect him, his head could have easily dropped but it didn't and even managed to pop up with a massive goal. He just needs a calming influence along side him and more experience at this level.

He's been great the last few weeks and he was still good tonight (despite us conceding 3).

Maybe he got out muscled. But the lack of support from Sagna and Ota was a fucking disgrace, when Stones got his foot to that ball they should have been snapping at the heels too get it clear. I'm not saying he was faultless, but it was far from all his fault.

Needs Kompany or someone like him beside him. It's as simple as that
