John Stones - 2016/17 performances

I think people are getting a little bit carried away with stones, he's a promising young centre back who should improve as he gains experience. he needs to stop giving the ball away cheaply and improve his aerial ability.

The only reason he gives the ball away is the planks that are around him. "I don't want the ball, I'm hiding" Clichy ! "What day is it" Kolarov !
Absolutely robbed the Toffees !

I think he's a midfielder playing at centre back. If dinho needs a rest or get injured he'd be my choice to play that role.
Wasted at CB. We want him on the ball futher up the field. He's great at bringing it forward and has a good eye for a pass

If it was once I'd be surprised, I thought it was more. Anyway, hopefully he'll be here in 10 years time, captaining the club to success after success. However, don't want him winning anything with England though!

Young defenders like him will always make mistakes. His positives far outweigh his negatives which are mostly due to inexperience. I feel like he's going to be a huge part of our future.

I thought he was good yesterday. I know he's made a few mistakes but he's gonna be the best English defender for some time - well apart from Phil Jones obviously!

He was great again. Seems more and more confident (and accurate) when he's on the ball and is carrying it into the midfield.

He's been brilliant this season and will only get better. He needs a solid back four around him, and players taking up better positions when he's in possession.

My own view is that so often central defenders only really come of age in their late twenties after lots of games.
Stones is young and no way the finished article but......
If he carries on developing then he is going to be a hell of a player for us over the next ten years. Definitely captain material as well.

Not sure it is just his age mistakes happen because Pep also wants high risk football I can live with that
I've been very impressed with Stones already the first name on the team sheet in our defence he will be around for years and will only get better

Quality player that suits our style and his young and hungry
