The Boxing thread

Disgusting....you got that bit reet, fella hobbling about on one leg for 5 rounds...like i said good job bellew was'nt accurate.

Blaming Jimmy Tibbs for what happened to Watson? Disgraceful. You obviously follow boxing to even remember Tibbs was in the corner that night. Should know better

Yeah....he was screaming at the ref for stopping the fight whilst michael was chucking an eppi...the refs words were 'he's finished Jim and you know it'

So, despite there being no doctors or ambulance or oxygen ringside, and despite Watson being taken to the wrong hospital, Jimmy Tibbs was the man to blame for Watson's catastrophic and virtually unprecedented injuries? Wow. I literally have no more words to spare discussing this with you. Enjoy the rest of your night

Tibbs the experienced one watched the ref (watched) collect his fighter from his corner and lead him to scratch in the 12th (after the uppercut)....lead him to scratch...all that is pre doctors ambulance blar blar....let the ref lead his fighter to scratch.....wow.....tonight he's on with 5 rounds of hop scotch.

I get really pissed of with all the trash talk in the build up to the fights, at the end of the fight I was sat there watching them fawning over each other and half expecting them to partake in a mutual blow job.

As a fight fan buying tickets of course you get the full card and a night out but lets be honest here mate, British heavyweight boxing is in a desperate state Joshua aside and he is yet to fight anyone meaningful so the jury is still out.

Great show, very glitzy and credit to Hearn and his fellow promoters as they know how to make money but i said last night WWE has more integrity than the heavyweights these days and last night did nothing to dissuade me differently.

The under card put the 2 supposed main men to shame and not for the first time either.

I was surprised Haye was allowed to continue tbh, nobody wants to be watching that carry on.
Keith Thurmans win was decent but Bunce was talking shite saying Jimmy Lennon said 'still' when in fact he said 'now' . Garcia also misheard, but it wasn't a la la land moment!

Some fights sell themselves but when you have two rank average fighters like these two then you'll get all the "they hate each other" bollocks and i'm always surprised people fall for it and pay to watch this shit.

I think the fight should have been called off as soon as he did his achilles in training and everyone knew it. Haye must have really needed the money to go ahead with it, his words after the fight must have been agreed upon beforehand as soon as Matchroom got wind of the injury, it all seemed like make believe from everyone in that post fight ringside bit.

I said after the first round his footwork was off(flat footed and plodding forward), not only that he did appear desperate swinging(uncharacteristically) wildly to land big from the first round(most likely because he knew there was a chance the ankle wouldn't hold up) and as soon as he did start finding his rhythm from the 4th round onwards(first time anyone looked dominant in that fight) it didn't take long for his ankle to go.

As unlikeable as he is, it's a shame how things have gone for him especially with his injuries, I think he will retire for good if he doesn't then he must really still need the money. Anyone know how much they made off this one?

What's more strange is the amount of people trying to downplay the injury, nice to find one exception atleast:
